An Ode to Summer

As September begins to fade, in come the cooler nights and falling leaves. And although we hate to even utter the words, we all know that our sweet summer is coming to an end. See everyone loves summer, but summers in NYC are even more beloved than anywhere else because we get such a short season of sunshine before we are all brutally reminded that our geographical location is home to some of the coldest winters on the east coast.

In true, house of bricks form, we couldn't let our summer go without one last Big Bang! On Saturday, September 17th, 2016 we gathered our favorite beach blankets turned picnic blankets, some sandwiches, a summer sangria and some games and we had ourselves a Field Day at prospect park in Brooklyn! Some of our close friends, old and new, pulled up and we kicked it until the sun set! We laughed and reminisced on all that summer sixteen gave us. We discussed plans for the fall. We had relay races and hula-hoop contests. We sat in the sun and enjoyed one of the last days that this beautiful summer has leant us. And although like summer, the picnic also ended with a drop in the temperature and a chill in the air, it was awesome to spend the second most wonderful time of the year with the dope people who've been supporting us since we launched at the beginning of the summer. So cheers to you, summer sixteen, you've shown us a good time!

Forever yours,
